Kay J. Whelan
Chief Operating Officer

Kay Whelan is the Chief Operating Officer of Sawyer Design Associates. She has been with the firm since its inception in 1996 and oversees all company operations. Her daily obligations include development of project budgets, proposals and contracts, account management, and business development. She is also focused on strategic processes and policies to improve the functionality of the Sawyer Design team, and closely analyzes the company's operational systems, ultimately ensuring the efficient and prompt delivery of the firm's high-quality services.

Kay graduated with honors from the University of Texas. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Trinity Strand Trail and is a member of the Greater Dallas Chamber. In addition, she is a member of the Junior League of Dallas and the St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, where she chairs the Friends in Christ committee. She is also involved with the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center and the Garden Committee of Dallas.
